Shipping in New England A London engraver created A South East View of the Great Town of Boston in New England in America from a drawing by William Burgis. Burgis came to the colonies from England and lived in Boston from 1722 to 1731. Founded in 1630, Boston, with its excellent port, quickly became the largest city in the early colonies.
